Dancing with the Giordano Stars was a one-in-a-lifetime experience.  Or so I thought. 

Never would I imagine going through such rigorous preparation again – multiple flights to Chicago, countless hours of costume crafting, leaping way, way, way outside my comfort zone….

Yet, never would I say “no” to the chance to support this incredible dance company.

Giordano Dance Chicago makes the world a better place in so many ways.  It’s a force of positivity that uplifts audiences worldwide, fosters camaraderie within the Chicago dance community AND helps Chicago Public School students (and their families).

The GDC’s Jazz Dance Science and Health program targets students in four under-resourced neighborhoods, teaching them nutrition and exercise through dance.  Principals, teachers, students and their families attest to the success (and popularity) of the program, evidenced in improved standardized testing scores, better behavior in the classroom and healthier eating habits.

What better way to inspire our youth than by molding our passion into purpose.

In honor and support of GDC’s profound impact, Ryan and I set out to create a performance to celebrate our collective purpose.  We selected a meaningful song by Prince, who himself quietly and generously funded numerous urban youth programs much like GDC does. Our repertoire features hip-hop fusion – a dance style that celebrates diversity and is steeped in American ingenuity. 

We invite you to be part of the celebration.  After all, Giordano Dance Chicago is our shared passion.  So jump in and dance along!

Every donation goes to the Jazz Dance Science and Health Program and general programming, as well.  Please join us in helping GDC with its very important mission.

Dancing With The Giordano Stars All Stars

The ELECTRICITY is back, and this time with a team of All Stars!

That’s right, a group of Chicago A-listers and former Dancing With The Giordano Stars contestants from the past 15 years take the stage with a Giordano professional dancer for another shot at winning the coveted disco ball. The stakes are higher with each couple performing only one dance for one chance to impress our guest judges, in addition to an ambitious group production number. Support your favorite Star and stay to dance the night away!

All proceeds benefit our Jazz Dance/Science & Health outreach program, company operations, and jazz dance advocacy and mentorship.
