I was introduced to the Giordano Dance Chicago and this fundraising event through my ten year old daughter's dance instructor, and am excited to be a part of this production!
I love new challenges and opportunities for growth. I founded Derm Institute of Chicago in the COVID shutdown of 2020 with a single part-time office, and we have grown to more than ten practitioners and four full-time offices in five years. It has been wonderful, rewarding work, and we love serving the Chicago community. We had our third child last year at age 44; she is a blessing, and keeps us young and on our toes. She LOVES to dance to any kind of music, from Lady Gaga to Beethoven!
From middle school through college, I was on poms dance teams performing at football games, basketball games, community events, and competing in state tournaments. I enjoy hip hop, jazz and ballroom dancing, and I hope I remember how to do it. :) My oldest daughter loves to dance, and participating in this event is a great way to show her that dancing can be a lifelong passion, as well as a means to make a positive impact.
I enjoy being a part of programs like these that will help youth in our city. In 2022, I created the Art of Skin Gala, which was a fundraiser that helped Chicago children gain STEM experiences in and outside of school. That program continues on a national level in New York City, but it is so great to know that it started right here in Chicago. It is exciting to now be able to support kids, not only in the sciences with STEM but in the arts, as well!
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in an important cause!
